Crosley Field was home to the Cincinnati Reds
until 1970 when they moved into Riverfront Stadium
. Unfortunately, not much remains of it. A small commercial
park now resides where the park once was. About the only remnants left
are shown in the first two photos above. There are two rows of seats
from the park (which are not in very good shape) and a plaque indicating
that this was the site of Crosley Field. There is nothing to mark the
exact location of homeplate. While there isn't much at the actual site,
the town of Blue Ash, Ohio has constructed a replica of the field that has
the outfield fence and scoreboard looking as they did at Crosley. This
is shown in the third photo above. Also at the park in Blue Ash is
an original ticket booth from Crosley Field. It's well worth a visit
if you are in the Cincinnati area. I just wish there was more at the
original site.
