McCurdy Field was last used for professional baseball in 1990 when the Frederick Keys used it for one season before moving into their new park, Harry Grove Stadium. While the field at McCurdy dates back longer, the grandstand has markers
that indicate it was constructed in 1981. With a completely metal structure, this 1981 date would seem accurate. The
grandstand resembles that of Municipal Stadium in nearby Hagerstown, though on a slightly smaller scale. Apparently this park is still used for amateur baseball on a regular basis. And because of this, remains in excellent shape.
