The original Siebert Field, home of the University of Minnesota baseball team (thru the 2009 season), also hosted professional baseball for two years in the mid 1990's. The Minneapolis Loons called this park home in 1994 and 1995 as part of the North Central and Prarie Leagues. The park was probably sufficient for indy baseball in those days, but its location in downtown Minneapolis was probably a hindrance to the team drawing fans. Siebert Field was torn down and rebuilt in 2012 with it opening again in 2013 as the home of Gophers baseball.
