Heritage Field is located on the same plot of land previously occupied by the original Yankee Stadium. After a couple of years of construction, it was finally completed in 2012. Oddly, there is very little recognition of the history of the ballpark that once stood here. There are four benches and numerous pavers that list various events that ocurred at Yankee Stadium, but there is no featured plaque which describes exactly what was on this spot previously. The only thing remaining from the old Yankee Stadium is a large piece of frieze, located in what was the outfield. Heritage Field is nice, but something feels odd since there is not nearly enough recognition of the Yankees history.
