Known as the "Polo Grounds" when it first opened in 1949, this ballpark became known as Angels Stadium in later years, presumably because of it hosting spring training for the California Angels from 1961-92. Two different professional teams have also played here - the Palm Spring Angels of the California League (1986-93) and the Palm Springs Suns of the independent Western League (1995-96). Today it hosts a summer collegiate league team. While probably suitable for a Golden League franchise, there have been no rumblings in recent years of pro baseball returning here.
