Having been here in 1986,
I don't remember a whole lot about Fulton County Stadium. It was very similar
to the other circular, mutli-purpose stadiums built in the 60's and 70's.
At least this one had a grass field, unlike those in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati,
and St. Louis. The park was situated right next to the Braves second home,
Turner
Field. It met the wrecking ball in 1997 and there is now a parking
lot where it once stood. After the stadium was torn down, an outline was
drawn in the pavement to show exactly where the field was. This is shown in the last photo above.
