From looking at C.O. Brown Stadium, you wouldn't think that it was built in 1990. The covered grandstand with tall steel girders give the park a much older feel. It is really unlike any other park built in the past 20 years. Unfortunately, much of the grandstand is metal, which makes it rather unattractive, and probably noisy during games. It is located in a city park among other sporting fields. While it clearly doesn't stack up against other new parks built since 1990, C.O. Brown Stadium is unique and hopefully will continue to host pro baseball of some sort for years to come. Unfortunately, the Battle Creek frnachise picked up and left for greener pastures (Midland) after the '06 season. A Northwoods League team (collegeiate summer) will play at C.O. Brown in 2007. It seems that an independent team could have moved here, but there was never any rumblings of that happening. At least the park won't be abandoned.
