Muzzy Field was home to
the Bristol Red Sox of the Eastern League during the 1970's and early 80's.
This is the franchise that would eventually move to the nearby city of
New Britain. The park features a nice brick exterior with a covered
grandstand. Seeing some of the other Eastern League parks from the
same era (Waterbury, Holyoke, Glens Falls), this one was probably among
the best. The biggest problem with it is access - it is situated
well off any major roads. Muzzy Field is still used for high school and college
baseball today. I have not been able to get into the park on either of my visits.
