| Dunedin Stadium (now known as TD Ballpark) was built in 1990 on the same site as Grant Field. I don't know what Grant Field looked like, but Dunedin Stadium is a rather dull, no frills ballpark, typical of the era when it was built. It is located in a residential area of Dunedin, which means parking is limited (and expensive at $5 - $10). Of course parking is probably not an issue during the FSL season. The park is made up of all individual seats, though not of the fold down variety. A center concourse splits the seating area into upper and lower sections. A small roof overhangs the last several rows of seating. The concourse runs behind the grandstand and is completely out out of view from the field. Featured on the concourse are numerous concession stands and a small gift store. Concessions are well varied and reasonably priced. During the spring training games I attended here, the atmosphere was a bit "minor league" - a mascot was on hand and several between inning promotions were done. Overall, Dunedin Stadium is a serviceable venue, but certainly not as nice (or as interesting) as many of the other spring training parks that have been built since 1990. Fortunately, after years of negotiation, this facility will be getting an $80 million renovation starting after spring training ends in 2018. This will ensure the Blue Jays train here for years to come.
