Driller Park hasn't seen professional baseball since the 1950's, but apparently still gets plenty of use from high school and other amateur teams. Built in the heart of oil country, the grandstand is a vivid reminder of this as oil rigs adorn the exterior of the grandstand. Though the park would probably be suitable for an independent minor league team, the economy in the area is probably not such that it could support one. A nice historical marker, describing the history of Driller Park, was recently erected in front of the ballpark. After being home to the East Texas Pump Jacks, a summer collegiate league team for several years, it is now void of a permanent tenant. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get inside to take further photos.
