Don Schaly Stadium (formerly known as Pioneer Park) was named after the long time head coach of the Marietta College baseball team. While its use has almost been solely for amateur baseball, it did see brief usage as a home for a professional team in 2005. During that season, the Ohio Valley Redcoats of the independent Frontier League played 6 "home" games here, though they were basically a traveling team. With all the new ballparks going up today, even in the indy leagues, it is hard to imagine a place like Don Schaly Stadium ever hosting pro ball on a permanent basis. But it appears to be a perfectly fine college venue.
