Despite being in fine condition and having been around since 1948, Brooks Stadium only hosted professional baseball from 1951-1955 when the Paducah Chiefs of the Kitty League called it home. Since then, it has been used exclusively by American Legion and collegiate teams. It is obvious that the city takes great pride in Brooks Stadium as both the field and grandstand are immaculate. With independent leagues popping up all over in the country in the 1990's, it is somewhat surprising that this ballpark never got a team. But perhaps the city resisted in order to keep it open for amateur teams. A cute little ballpark certainly worth a look if you're in the area.
