Shibe Park (later renamed Connie Mack Stadium) was once home to both Philadelphia baseball franchises. The A's played here from 1909-54 and the Phillies from 1938-70. Located north of center city, Shibe Park was surrounded by neighborhoods. It was torn down in 1976 after falling into disrepair. An evangelistic church now stands on the site. The marker above can be found on Lehigh Avenue. |
