There seems to be many mixed feelings about Beehive Field. After their new stadium was built for the 1996 season, some called Beehive a dump, while others wondered why they built a new park that wasn't as nice as the one they already had. Although Beehive Field was a nice enough place to see a game, I don't think I'd say it's better than what they have now. Actually Beehive still sits next to the new park and is used for various high school games. Beehive is made up mostly of bench seating with small sections of box seats also included. The concessions were located on the concourse area behind the seating areas. Having seen my only game there in 1990, I don't remember much more about the experience, but it's pretty clear from the pictures, that without a new stadium New Britain would not have kept their franchise.
