While I never did see a game at Billy Hebert Field, it doesn't look like I missed a whole lot. Despite being an older ballpark, it has no characteristics that would make it a "classic" minor league venue. Located in Oak Park (a city owned park), the ballpark features an uncovered concrete grandstand behind home plate and two sections of metal bleachers - one down each foul line. About the only thing distinguishing about the park is the ivy growing on the exterior walls. The Stockton franchise of the California League called this park home for many years before moving into a new stadium, Banner Island Ballpark, in 2005. Apparently it is still getting some use by various amateur teams so should remain around for the forseeable furture.
