Christensen Stadium was home to the Midland franchise in the Texas League until 2002 when Security Bank Ballpark opened on the other side of town. While it looks like a suitable enough ballpark for professional baseball, it is no classic. The grandstand is made up mostly of metal benches with only a few rows of box seats. A small roof covers the back few rows of seating on the third base side. The concourse runs behind the grandstand and is mostly uncovered. Despite pro ball moving out in 2002, Christensen Stadium still appears to get plenty of use by local amateur teams. So it probably will be around for many years to come.
