Holt-Moffitt Field was last used for professional baseball in 1967 when the Lexington Braves of the South Atlantic League called this park home. Before that it had been used on and off by the SAL and the Tar Heel League since its opening in 1938. While the grandstand itself is not too interesting, the playing field does have one distinguishing characteristic. In left field, there is a hill right before the fence that is in play. This is very similar to the one that used to exist at Howard Johnson Field in Johnson City. Unfortunately, I was unable to get inside to take better photos.
