Metropolitan Stadium was the home of the Minnesota Twins from 1961-81, before they moved into the Metrodome. Originally it was built for minor league baseball, but was expanded to accommodate an MLB team when the Senators moved here in '61. Metropolitan Stadium was demolished in 1985 with the Mall of America being built on the same site shortly afterward. The photos above depict the historical markers that can now be found in the Mall of America. They are located in the Nickelodean Universe amusement park, found on the ground floor of the mall.
