The Memphis franchise played at Tim McCarver Stadium through the 1999 season after which they moved into a brand new downtown ballpark, Autozone Park. Like many ballparks from the 1960's, it was set on a fairgrounds away from the downtown. It was situated right next door to the Liberty Bowl. McCarver Stadium was one of those strange parks that features an artificial turf infield and a grass outfield. Having not seen a game here and because I was not able to get inside on my only visit, I cannot give this park a grade. From most accounts, it was not a great minor league park, and one that few people seem to be missing. In early 2005, the park was demolished.
