Arlington Stadium was located
somewhere near the Rangers new home, The Ballpark In
Arlington, though its not evident where as I noticed no markings while
visiting the new ballpark. It's quite amazing that this ballpark hosted
major league baseball for as long as it did (1972-1993). It was originally a minor
league park, and really was never much better than that. The majority of
the seating was on the lower level, with just a small upper deck located
behind home plate. The concourse area ran beneath the seating areas. Because
it was located in a big parking lot, the setting was unspectacular. Being
that it was a substandard stadium, and that it was the home of a lot of
lousy Ranger teams, I don't think many were sad to see it go.
