College Park was home to the Charleston entry in the South Atlantic League for many years before the opening of Joseph Riley Park in 1996. The park features a covered wooden grandstand made up mostly of benches. And there are some individual box seats that actually sink below field level. The structure of the park does not look very solid, so it's little wonder why a new park was built. Apparently the park is still used by The Citadel as a practice facility. It seems unlikely that College Park sees many games these days, mainly because of its location in a residential area away from the downtown.
