Loeb Stadium has mostly been used for amateur baseball over the years, but did host professional baseball for a span of five years in the 1990's. From 1994-98, 3 different independent leagues placed a team here. The Lafayette Leopards were part of the Great Central League in 1994, the Mid-America League in 1995, and the Heartland League from 1996-98. Loeb Stadium features a large, uncovered concrete grandstand with benches for seating. A small concourse runs underneath the grandstand. The ballpark is best known now for hosting the Colt League World Series, which it has done so since 1969. Professional baseball returned for a trial run in 2005 as the Ohio Valley Redcoats called Loeb Stadium home for 15 games.
