| Do you like the smell of
rotting trash ? If so, this is the perfect place to come. Located
right next to a large landfill, the smell was quite strong the afternoon
I came to take some photos. To be fair, I'm not sure if it's always
like this or if it was just the time of the day and the high temperatures
that made it worse. Located in the Chicago suburb of Geneva, the
smell has not kept the fans away. Their attendance has been so good
that they have talked about adding an upper deck for more seating.
This would also allow them to add luxury boxes - something that is strangely
missing here. Elfstrom Stadium is very typical of the 90's parks,
with a concourse overlooking the field. Hopefully you don't come
here when it rains - there is very little cover. Picnic areas are
located in both left field and right field. Seating here is over
half benches indicating that the park was built on the cheap. For
a park only 10 years old, it almost feels outdated already. Certainly
not a must-see ballpark.
