After lasting hosting professional baseball in
the Alabama-Florida League in the 1950's, Bloch Park finally got another
chance in 2002 when the Southeastern League came calling. Unfortunately, the Cloverleafs
only lasted one season. While the
park is in good condition, it's really not suitable for any level of pro baseball,
even independent. There is just a tiny covered grandstand behind home
plate and some small metal bleachers down each line. The sightlines
here appear to be poor as there is thick fencing all around and the foul
territory is huge. Like Eagle Stadium
in Ozark, Bloch Park is a great reminder of a past era in minor league
baseball.
