Born and raised in Massachusetts, I have been a Red Sox fan (and baseball fan) for as long as I can remember.  I still remember going to my first game at Fenway Park in 1982 when I was eight years old.  Little did I know then that it would be the first of many ballparks I would visit over the years.  Even before going to Fenway, I had been to several minor league games in Holyoke (MA), which was home to a AA Eastern League team at the time.

I’m pretty sure that I got the ballpark bug from my Uncle Jeff, who took a cross country tour in 1977 to visit almost all the Major League ballparks.  While I was only three at the time, he would reminisce about this trip for years afterward.  At some point it became a goal of mine to see games in all the MLB parks, something that I would finally reach in 2006 when I visited the new Busch Stadium.

In 1988, my family planned our first ballpark vacation, one in which we would hit multiple parks over the course of a week.  This trip was to New York state and would include five minor league ballparks.  Over the next 7 years, we continued to take a one week ballpark vacation to visit various ballparks in the northeast.  I feel very fortunate to have begun ballpark collecting in the 1980’s as it allowed me to see some of the classics that would be replaced in the 1990’s and 2000’s.

After graduating from college in 1996, I moved to the Hudson Valley area of New York, which was enemy (Yankees) territory.  I continued to take yearly ballpark trips, first with my brother and then in recent years with my wife.  All tolled, I have now seen games in over 300 professional ballparks, and have photographed over 500.  Being a ballpark lover has allowed me to see many cities and places in the United States and Canada that I probably never would have visited otherwise.  I have visited 49 states (all except Alaska) and seen professional games in 48 states (all except Wyoming and Alaska).

While my travels have slowed down in recent yeas because of the birth of our daughter, I still try to get to a few new ballparks every year.  Hopefully you enjoy my photos and reviews just as much as I do sharing them with other baseball fans.

See you at the ballpark !
